The mission of Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center is to provide high-quality, comprehensive and culturally appropriate primary health care to the communities of Washington and Yamhill counties, with a special emphasis on migrant and seasonal farmworkers and others with barriers to receiving healthcare.
Oral health services
Virginia Garcia provides comprehensive dental care and education for parents, children and young adults, including:
- Preventive care (exams, x-rays, cleanings, fluoride varnish and sealants)
- Restorative and rehabilitative care (fillings, crowns, root canals, bridges and extractions)
- Comprehensive dental services for pregnant women and diabetic patients, provided on a limited, walk-in basis
- The Baby Days program provides dental care to infants in a group setting, and teaches parents good oral hygiene practices for themselves and their infants
Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center received a grant to provide high-quality, culturally appropriate school-based oral health care for underserved children in five school districts in Washington and Yamhill counties.
